Founder
of Meridian Management Advisors, Roger Chen possesses nearly
20 years of professional business experience that includes 17 years of
hands-on senior executive management recruiting. In his expansive retained
executive search career, he has executed clients’ projects across
a myriad of industries including industrial manufacturing, specialty chemicals,
industrial technology, precision engineering, high-tech (hardware and software),
telecom (networking equipment and service providers), business services,
distribution, semiconductor, aerospace and defense, financial services,
healthcare, and professional services.
Prior to founding Meridian Management Advisors, Roger was one of the key principals at Notch Partners, a unique executive-centric leadership consulting firm that exclusively serves the private equity buyout industry. During his tenure, he was instrumental in growing the firm and supporting clients’ investment activities, including proprietary deal development, executive-led diligence support, operating partner/advisor initiatives, as well as leading portfolio company management and board recruitment projects.
From 1998 to 2007, Roger was a consultant at Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., a premier publicly-traded executive search and leadership consulting firm. There, he partnered with one of the most senior and respected members of the firm and successfully executed general management, board, and senior functional search assignments for Fortune 500, venture capital-backed, private equity-sponsored, and privately-held companies.
In addition to his professional services expertise, Roger also boasts in-house corporate senior executive recruiting management experience at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. In this role, he executed executive management level search work within the institution, including Global Wealth Management, Brokerage Clearing, Capital Markets Technology, and Risk Management. Roger began his executive search career with a New York City-based boutique retained executive search firm working closely with the three founding partners executing clients’ projects in the consumer packaged goods, financial services, and technology industries.
Roger began his professional career as a financial analyst at Citibank,
N.A., where he was a member of the mortgage bank lending group and was
also affiliated with Citicorp Securities, Inc. (Series 7 & 63 licensed).
He is a Rutgers University, School of Business graduate with a degree
in Finance.
